Support JLSP on November 16th! Give to the Max Day 2010: Minnesota’s Largest Give Together!

Nonprofit organizations throughout the state will once again ask Minnesotans to display their record-breaking generosity during the second annual “Give to the Max Day” on November 16.

This is a day for us to come together as Minnesotans and show our support for the nonprofit organizations that work tirelessly to improve our communities.

During last year’s Give to the Max Day, more than 53 donors logged on to GiveMN.org to donate to the Junior League of Saint Paul. The result: $7,980! “Last year the Junior League of Saint Paul was a beneficiary of an incredible amount of giving, which we are very grateful for in helping to support JLSP, allowing us to continue to fulfill our mission and improve the lives of women and children in the Saint Paul Community,” said Dianna Peterson, President of the Junior League of Saint Paul.

This year we ask our members and supporters to consider giving generously again on November 16th to help us exceed the level of giving from last year. Your donations will help our organization continue to fulfill our mission. Additional funds may help JLSP to:

• Support training activities to help develop our members as community and civic leaders
• Purchase food for the JLSP Backpack Buddies Program that provides access to nutritional meals for children who might not have access outside of school hours.
• Purchase books to donate to children who complete the Saint Paul Public Schools Early Childhood Program
• Support the general operations of JLSP, allowing us to continue fulfilling our mission.

As added incentives this year, GiveMN.org will also offer the following incentives for donors:

• Throughout the event, an individual donor will be randomly chosen every hour to have an additional $1,000 given to the charity that received the donor’s original donation.
• A $20,000 and $10,000 prize grant will be awarded to the top two nonprofits in the Twin Cities and the top two nonprofits in greater Minnesota that attract the largest number of individual donors on Give to the Max Day.
